River Stone offers trauma-informed treatment for substance use disorders with a harm reduction approach.

Thousands of New Brunswickers struggle with substance use disorders.

Many street drugs are tainted with dangerous and deadly chemicals, including fentanyl.

Effective treatment with prescribed medication and social supports addresses this risk.

Patient-centred approach

Our treatments are available to anyone who wants help reducing or stopping illicit drug usage. No doctor’s referral is required.

We begin with a comprehensive intake to create an individual treatment plan. Our treatments are evidence based with a focus on reducing harms from substance use. Our program uses group appointments that can be in person or virtual. Our patients tell us they prefer group settings so they know they are not alone.

Treatments for opioid use disorder

We offer Opioid Agonist Therapy (OAT), which may include daily oral medications such as Suboxone, Methadone, or Kadian, or injections of Sublocade every 28 days.

For those whose needs are not met through these forms of OAT, we offer prescribed injectable opioid agonist therapy (iOAT) through a program endorsed by Health Canada.

Treatment for stimulant use disorder

Stimulant Replacement Therapy (SRT) includes prescribed oral medications such as Dexedrine, Abilify and Concerta (long-acting Ritalin).

Wraparound Supports

Patient-involved goal setting and support for accessing resources including housing and food.

Psychological and social supports focused on strengthening healthy coping strategies and improving mood and emotional regulation
